Part 2: Alternative
Therapies to Help IBS
IBS, as you know by now,
has no known cure. In fact, conventional medicine doesn’t
even know what causes it. However, many IBS sufferers are
seeking relief in alternative therapies.
Alternative therapies could lead
to a cure for IBS. Yes, I did say “cure!” Doctors
will have you believe that there is no cure for IBS and instead
insist you fill prescription after prescription. Why is this
so? Doctors do not know what causes IBS. Plus, there isn’t
any money to be made in alternative therapies for chronic
conditions like IBS. It makes doctors and pharmaceutical companies
much more money to develop a drug to treat IBS rather than
an actual cure.
Alternative therapies tend to
look at the big picture rather than the little, albeit troublesome
symptoms. This is often referred to as a “holistic”
approach, as these kinds of therapies focus on the whole health
of the person, rather than their symptoms.
Acupuncture and Chinese
Medicine
To put it simply, acupuncture
and all of Chinese medicine for that matter, is about the
balancing of Qi (pronounced “chi”), or the flow
of energy throughout the body. When you are sick, the energy
in your body is out of balance, leaving too much in certain
areas of the body and not enough in other areas. With effective
acupuncture treatment, a person with IBS can experience relief.
Hypnotherapy
Hypnotherapy has received much
attention lately as a legitimate treatment option for many
conditions, both physical and psychological. What makes hypnotherapy
special, however, is how it harnesses your natural mental
state in order to make changes at the subconscious level to
your body and mind. The hypnosis simply allows you better
to control your own body and processes.
Aloe Vera
As life gets more and more complicated,
stress levels increase and the quality of our diets declines,
it’s no wonder that IBS affects millions of people each
year. But, Aloe Vera juice has been shown to be an effective
treatment. You can take it as a liquid that is created straight
out of the gel or as a capsule. As an imbalance of bacteria
in the digestive tract may be a cause of many people’s
IBS, Aloe Vera is a natural choice for treating the condition.
Ayurveda
Ayurveda is traditional Indian
medicine that focuses on balancing the mind, body and soul
in order to create harmony. Ayurveda treatments include all
sorts of approaches including everything from diet, to the
elimination of foods to massage and even herbs. An Ayurveda
consultant will help you develop a complete treatment plan
that includes diet, fitness, stress management and more in
order to take control of your IBS.
You will learn much more
and about many other alternative therapies for IBS in my e-book,
“How I can be Free from IBS Forever.”
Good luck in finding the best
treatment plan for you!
Kindest regards,

Vance Harvey
